Arno Melkonyan, born in 2004 in Yerevan, Armenia, is a composer, pianist, and guitarist based in Boston. His work fuses Late Romantic lyricism, jazz-fusion harmonies, and Armenian folk and sacred chant into emotionally direct, story-driven music. Currently a Berklee College of Music student studying composition and game scoring, he writes for chamber and orchestral ensembles and performs internationally as a soloist and collaborator in cross-cultural projects that spotlight Armenian heritage in contemporary forms. His mission remains to use music as a bridge between past and present, inviting audiences into an intimate, emotionally rich sound world. His concerts move from meditative textures to powerful climaxes, often framed by program notes that connect each piece to Armenian cultural memory. Recent highlights include the premiere of his Piano Concertino "Anahit" with Berklee's Society of Composers Student Orchestra and a Carnegie Hall appearance featuring his chamber works, including the world premiere of his solo piano suite "In Memory of Artsakh." Melkonyan continues to develop projects centered on Armenian stories and sounds, pairing original works with reimagined traditional material. He studies composition and game scoring at Berklee and serves as Co-President of Berklee's Society of Composers as well as Treasurer of the Armenian Student Association, actively shaping artistic initiatives within the Berklee community.
