Meet 2014 EHF Scholarship recipient, Tigran Arakelyan.
Tigran Arakelyan holds prominent positions as Music Director of the Northwest Mahler Festival, Port Townsend Symphony, and Executive Director of Music Works Northwest. Recently recognized in Musical America's Top 30 Professionals of the Year and as a Yamaha Music 40 under 40 honoree, Tigran's career highlights include serving as assistant conductor for the California Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra.
He has performed alongside Sir James Galway and conducted the Federal Way Youth Symphony on tours across South Korea, including Seoul and Busan. Tigran has led regional premieres by composers like Paul Hindemith and made his Walt Disney Concert Hall conducting debut in 2019.
Tigran Arakelyan earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in conducting from the University of Washington under Ludovic Morlot's invitation.
